About Me
My name is Alyssa Miseveth (Uh-lee-suh Miz-uh-veth) and I live in Florida!

With over 15 years of experience in math education, I’ve had the privilege of directly supporting students from middle school through college in their mathematical journey to proficiency. For the last 10 of those 15 years, I have created learning experiences and designs for some of the world’s leading institutions, including Harvard Medical, MIT, Cambridge, Northwestern, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and the Wharton School of Business.

I created Solve for y to help young learners and their families feel confident, supported, and capable when it comes to mathematics. At my core, I’ve always been most passionate about tailoring learning for the individual — helping students learn in ways that truly make sense to them.

Math isn’t just about formulas and right answers. It’s about finding a path that clicks for you. Whether we’re tackling tough concepts, filling in skill gaps, or just trying a new approach, I’m here to guide your learning journey.

Believe it or not, I wasn’t the student who breezed through math with straight A’s. I loved puzzles and patterns, but like many students, I relied on memorization rather than deep understanding. It wasn’t until college — while training to become a teacher — that I discovered the why behind the math. Suddenly, the real-world connections in algebra, geometry, and calculus made it all come alive.

Now, I help students uncover that same clarity and confidence. Together, we’ll explore the why (y) behind the work — and find the path that works for you.
